Best Use of Social Media
The friendly competition, dubbed the “DUGGIE” awards, was created by Hart Energy’s conference team in an effort to acknowledge the growth, professionalism and creativity of the participating exhibitors associated with its successful North America DUG conference series. –Award categories included: Best Booth, Best Promotional Giveaway Items and Best Use of Social Media.
Aggreko is a regular exhibitor at the DUG conference series, and this year the company decided to bring their integration of social media to life within its booth. Aggreko entertained the attendees with a live magician performance where all onlookers had the opportunity to enter into a drawing contest to win a YETI cooler. Photos of all activities were then shared on social media through Aggreko’s Twitter account.
“We are always looking for ways to engage other businesses and keep them informed about Aggreko’s services and solutions…the challenge is to do it in real time,” said Keith Armold, online marketing specialist, Aggreko North America. “We posted pictures, tweeted commentary from the show several times an hour and displayed our live social media efforts on TV monitors inside the booth. Conference hash tags were used before and during the conference to drive traffic to our floor space, especially when we were promoting free giveaways and announcing the live magician events.”
Aggreko was not only able to capture constant attendee engagement inside the booth through the use of its social media platforms, but caught the attention of the selected judges who determine the winners at each DUG event.
Aggreko received the prized trophy at the DUG Permian Basin conference networking reception. Aggreko will also be featured on the DUG website, in presentations emailed to conference attendees, and receive a $100 Freeman Services voucher to use toward any 2015 DUG event pre-event or onsite service.
